Jakob Ashfield (He/Him)
Student Researcher
Jakob is a first year Software Engineering Student at UNB Fredericton. He is from Fredericton.
Jakob worked on updating stretch goal reports and data; also, he programmed the BoostNB website. Jakob was the primary website developer. Jakob enjoys going to the gym and relaxing in the sunshine.
Joseph Drost (He/Him)
Student Researcher
Joseph Drost recently graduated from UNB with a BA in Political Science and Economics. This fall
he will be pursuing a research-based MA in Economics at UNB. Joe is from Fredericton and is working as a researcher for the Boost project writing and updating 'stretch goal' and summary reports. Joe likes to read Steinbeck and watch the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Caroline Pietroski (She/Her)
BoostNB Student-Mentor
Caroline is a fourth year Honours Economics and Environment & Society student at St. Thomas University. Coming from the busy city of Toronto, she finds Fredericton a nice change of pace for her life style. Caroline plays for the STU women's hockey team and can always be found at the ice rink!
Sudhish Poojary (He/Him)
Communications Coordinator
Sudhish Poojary just completed his third year in Mechatronics Engineering at UNB. He joins the 2022 Boost team as a Communications
Coordinator and will be spending the summer working on formatting reports, building the website and helping with all other communication needs! Sudhish likes to watch basketball and football (soccer) and enjoys playing it as well.
Tianjiao Yang (She/Her)
Student Researcher
Tianjiao is a fourth-year economic student at UNBF. She is from Harbin, China, and
working as a student researcher with the BoostNB team. Much of her summer will be spent both updating reports and creating content for social media! Tianjiao enjoys cooking and watching Castle.

Tashi Dorji

Tashi is a third year Economics student at UNB Fredericton. Although
originally from Bhutan, she now considers Fredericton a second home. In her spare time, Tashi enjoys journaling, reading and chilling with the nature alone.

Herbert Emery has held the Vaughan Chair on Regional Economics at the University of New Brunswick since 2016 and is Director of the Atlantic Institute for Public Policy. He holds an MA and PhD in Economics from the University of British Columbia. His academic career began at the University of Calgary where, he taught from 1993 to 2016. Starting in 2019, he led a major initiative, the JDI Roundtable on Manufacturing Competitiveness in New Brunswick, aimed at exploring policies and strategies for invigorating the province’s longstanding economic engine of manufacturing exports. From 2010 to 2015 Herb was the Managing Editor for Canadian Public Policy/Analyse de politiques.
